Abstract:

FeLoBALs are a special sub-class of quasar, a type of super black hole, that exhibit unique properties and mechanisms. While having been studied for decades, the physics that drive quasar mechanics is still poorly understood, however FeLoBALs provide insight into the inner workings of quasars. We analyzed over 1400 quasar spectra from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument to find these elusive blackholes to expand the known FeLoBAL data set.
