Rotterdam Community Center Needs Assessment

Abstract:

We will be presenting on the process we went through to finish creating and distributing our community needs assessment for the Rotterdam Community Center (RCC). This survey was distributed to residents of Rotterdam, NY in order to find out what needs they have that the RCC, and other organizations, could address through service programs. The role of the Rotterdam Community Center in the town of Rotterdam will be discussed, as well as our survey methods and outreach process. We will each discuss what we learned from this project as a whole and provide next steps for the next research team to complete after our project is finished. The next team will need to analyze the data and write recommendations to the RCC and other organizations to help address the needs of the Rotterdam Community. We also give a special thanks to Joe Paparone, who introduced us to the RCC and provided us with community connections, Mairead Carr, faculty advisor and researcher, and David Jesse Mathis, student researcher who helped with survey creation and outreach.
