Abstract:
This presentation serves as an analysis of portrayals of sex work and prostitution in Victorian literature. Oxford University Press invited Dr. Shannon Draucker to author the article “Prostitution and Sex Work” in contribution to Oxford Bibliographies in Victorian Literature. This research presentation highlights some of the key sources student research assistant, Juliana Catania, annotated in regard to various representations of sex work and prostitution in Victorian Literature, along with general societal attitudes of sex work and women during this time period. These annotations will be utilized by Dr. Draucker in compiling the complete article requested by Oxford University Press.Title
